Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil

February 15, 2014

Everyone is going gaga over cleansing oils, and after seeing an amazing result from use of Bio Oil for a month, I finally purchased a cleansing oil. I purchased Josie Maran Cleansing Oil (sephora exclusive product). It was the thickest one.

It claims to be all natural with argan, almond, safflower seed and grape seed oil and free of parabens, phtalates, GMOs, sulfates and triglosan. The description states combination of oils removes makeup and impurities, leaving skin moisturized and preventing inflammation, hyperpigmentation and excess oil production. Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil promises a lot, and after using it over a month, I am glad to inform you that it delivers on every aspect.

I massage 2 pumps directly onto dry face to cleanse any makeup including eyes, and after 30 seconds, addition of some water transforms the oil into milky creamy texture, which I massage all over my face for another minute to ensure thorough cleansing before washing. My skin feels clean, but still moisturized enough that it is ready for the next step in my skincare. However, I would apply serum or cream immediately after, otherwise skin gets bit tight.

It removes waterproof mascara, which is a testament to its effectiveness, but make sure to use it on dry face as once it is exposed to water, its effectiveness to remove eye makeup decreases. Surprisingly, my skin was not as shiny towards the end of the day since I started using it, and my skin which currently recovering from acne is much calmer and post acne hyperpigmentation seemed to form less prominently, though it is not as effective on already formed hyperpigmentation.
